I'm Back!

Where have I been you might have asked? Or not asked. Currently, I am entering hour six of my first Parent Teacher conference of the year. I have finished all of the things I needed to do and now I have an extra HOUR on my hands. So I have plenty of time to catch up.

First, most of you know we are pregnant! Yay! It’s a little BOY! Yay! Yay! I will have to say this time around has been a little different. I almost feel guilty because we are not in parental overdrive, like we were with Zoey. We are so excited and are still working on a name. I have about 50 people ask me everyday, “What are you going to name him?” I don’t know yet.

Secondly, school has started back and we are one week away from fall break. That is a reminder of how long it has been since I posted. When school started Zoey started PRESCHOOL! Oh, it makes me sad because it reminds me daily of how big she has gotten and I can’t get her to slow down. She loves preschool. She is in the Bunny class and she has two friends she talks about constantly, Callie and Dalton. I have a great video but I couldn't get it to post.  Imagine that!

Thirdly, my house is a disaster. Literally. We are in the process of remodeling two of the three bedrooms in our new house and it is a wreck. Because the bedrooms are under construction Zoey is currently homeless. So where does she land, my bed. Don’t get me wrong, I love to cuddle but she has never slept well and pregnancy + Zoey = a long night.

Last, as I previously mentioned fall break is just around the corner. Fall break will bring my most anticipated event. California. Jon and I are going to Los Angeles for four nights and five days during the second week of October. I have been looking forward to this trip for six months. I literally bought the plane tickets six months ago as we were heading to Nashville to the USA vs. Paraguay game. I am so excited!

We have a lot going on right now and a lot of exciting changes in our future. Please pray for our family and the health of our baby boy.

Spring is in the Air.....Sort of!

It's finally warming up around here, sort of.  Just about the time it warms up it rains and then it cools off.  The crazy weather has not prevented us from having a very full spring already.  Here is what we have been up to in chronological order starting with Zoey's actual birthday on March 25th.

We spent Zoey's birthday at the zoo in Memphis.  The Memphis Zoo is great and we were afraid the weather would not cooperate but it ended being a great day and we had an awesome time.

Her birthday party was the next day and it was a great time.  We had an "Abby Cadabby" party and it was too cute.

A few days later we went to the USA vs. Paraguay game in Nashville.  Let me preface this by saying before the World Cup this past summer I knew absolutely nothing about soccer.  Since then, I have learned a little.  You really have to know nothing to have a great time at this game.

Easter came a few weeks later and this year we had a lots of company the weekend before Easter so we decided to have an egg hunt with a few of our friends.  Laura also came in with my parents and Owen.  So much fun.

On Easter weekend, we were in Nashville at Lads to Leaders.  It was great time and we love spending time with our church family.

Best President's Day Ever...

I just had the best President's day ever.  Thanks to my two amazing sisters, Allison and Laura, and my incredible husband who spent a whole weekend alone with Zoey.  Allison just moved to Washington, DC in October.  Laura and I have had plans to go visit her since then.  We have been so excited to spend some time with just the three of us.  This weekend "conveniently fell on Allison's 28th birthday so that was an added bonus.  If I could describe this weekend in three words they would be fun, food, and fellowship.  It was so awesome to spend some time together with them. We laugh at each other because of the funny/dumb things we say and random memories from our childhood.  It was an incredible weekend.  I love my girls!
Let's Go!

Pretty Girls! Dinner at Rosa Mexicana!  UH-Mazing!

We went shopping and Laura and I both picked out the shirt she is wearing without knowing about the other one.  I guess it's that whole twin thing.

I don't have pictures of the cab ride home after Allison's birthday dinner. The craziest cab ride ever.

We went to the Farmer's Market on Sunday afternoon to pick up fresh food for dinner.

We fit in a little site seeing while Allison had to do a little work.

Do you think Michelle would let me borrow it for church?

Cooking our keep.

My only souvenir...I'll take it

We love our Washingtonian!

We LOVE this Woman!

We love this Woman right here.....

Why you might ask?  If you are from Lawrenceburg, live in Lawrenceburg, or have ever heard of Lawrenceburg you probably know this woman right here.  She is one of the most unique and amazing people I have ever known.  I have known Margie Mann my entire life.  She was my sixth grade teacher and my high school history teacher.  She sat behind me in church and gave me original flavored bubble gum before each high school game.  She does everything for everybody and manages to fit in a few marathons in her spare time.  She was recently diagnosed with cancer.  We love her so much and are praying for her daily.  About a week and a half ago I got a message from Amanda, Margie's daughter, saying they were wanting to honor their mother.  They were hosting a White Out night Saturday, Feb. 5 at Lawrence County vs. Columbia Central games.  They were going to sell white t-shirts just like the one she is wearing in the picture.  In a week and a half they sold over 900 t-shirts and donated the proceeds to cancer research.

They are wearing their shirts underneath their coats.

This post is to inform a certain lady of how much we all love her and to tell her she is constantly in our prayers.  We have full faith that she will kick this in the butt.  Yes "G" can!

Move aside MC Hammer...

I know many of you are friends with me on Facebook so most of you have seen a few of the videos I have posted of Zoey dancing. As she is getting older, she has stopped dancing as much.  I am afraid that I will forget how funny she was.  So this post is more for me.  Enjoy my little ballerina/breakdancer...

Belated Holiday Post Part 2...

The Holidays were so jam packed I had to break them into two parts. This Christmas was different than any other because we actually spent Christmas morning at our house.  (We had to be home so Santa Claus could find Zoey...duh.)  So this post will be broken down into three parts (Chronologicial order) to give you an idea of how GREAT our Christmas break was.

Part One: Lawrenceburg

We spent two days in Lawrenceburg before Christmas.  Little did we know but we got a ticket in the mail for speeding through Jackson on the way to Lawrenceburg.  50 bucks!  Really? Christmas in Lawrenceburg is always busy.   The first stop was Christmas with the Brown's.  This is Mom's side of the family and we have really grown.  The grandkids have started having kids.  This is what we look like now minus a few.

We always have a great time when we get together and most of us still act like kids.  Prime example below: Thank you Nathan and Aaron.

Next it was on to Collinwood the next morning.  We had Christmas breakfast with my grandparents, aunt and uncle and my cousins.  When I say breakfast I mean a southern breakfast.  Biscuits, chocolate gravy, eggs, bacon, and sausage, enough said. For lunch we had Christmas with the entire Holt family.
Five generations: Allison was a fifth generation, my dad was a fifth generation, and I think my grandaddy was a fifth generation.  Now Zoey and Owen are as well.
After our trip to Collinwood, we went back to L'burg to have Christmas with just our family.  I love them so much and now that Allison has moved I realized how precious these times with all of us are.  This was Owen's first Christmas so it was so much fun to see him experience what Zoey had the year before.  We had such a great time.
She is a behind the couch eater.

Now that her hair is growing we try to sneak in hair cuts where ever and when ever we can.

Part Two: Our House
Sadly, our time in Lawrenceburg can to an end and we packed up that night to drive back to Dyersburg. Santa was coming and we were excited to have this time with just Zoey.  I don't think she really  understood what was going on but we had a great time.  We began the morning with we hope will be an traditional Christmas pancake breakfast before the present opening began.  Enjoy!

Jon enjoying one of his Christmas presents.

Part Three: The Morris' Family
The last part of our Christmas actitives involved Jon's family.  Ricky, Alana, Sloan, and Mel came to stay with us after Christmas. It is always great when they come in.  Sloan and Zoey are so close in age they have a great time playing together.  We were sad to see them go but so glad they got to stay for a few days.

Great Christmas break in our new house.  Hopefully the first post about our new house will come this week...hopefully.
